The Seymour Senior Center in Chapel Hill has a weekly FREE tango movement class designed for seniors to help with movement, balance, listening, and non-verbal communication. Mondays at 3:30 PM in the Great Hall 2.
Beginner Tango Group classes Wednesdays
The Dynamic Tango Embrace.
Learn the most efficient and graceful methods to communicate with your partner and move seamlessly to classic tango music. Explore basic movements of the walk, ochos, the cross, and turns, all focusing on the silent connection of the open and closed embraces. Great for all levels and a perfect opportunity to meet new people.
Class tuition is $20 per person or $30 per couple.
Intermediate Tango Group classes Wednesdays
Intermediate Concept Class: Fantastic Fancy Footwork.
Examining individual movements that look intriguing and are designed to create deeper conversation between dancers. Secadas, ganchos, boleos, and pasadas will be introduced and refined. Each week will build on the previous to help the dancer’s ability to integrate vocabulary into basic movements. Previous dance experience highly recommended.
Class tuition is $20 per person or $30 per couple.
